Approach

We are a mother and daughter who have been photographing together for more than ten years, which is long enough that we no longer have to discuss who is covering what. One of us watches the people; the other watches the light. It makes for a calm set and a gallery that covers everything without anyone being marched around for it.

Rachel started this business and started shooting as a teenager. She is the film devotee and the editorial eye — analog for its warmth, its grain and the way it refuses to look like a particular year, plus the styling and design sense that shapes how a gallery is put together.

Laura came to photography in her thirties, after moving to Charleston from the central coast of California. She shoots digital and she is the reason people who swear they are bad at this end up relaxed in front of a camera. Weddings, proposals, portraits and branding, in Charleston and wherever else the two of us are sent.
